Summery flowers..

While enjoying the warmer sunny days, there is always the joy of exploring nature. I am a nature-minded person, so I enjoy it to the full!

Background has been made with a gelliplate and Nuance powders.
I've used a stamping tool,  to first stamp the image. I filled the image with white acrylic paint, let it dry, and stamped the image again. I stamped the image in the background with second-generation stamping.

I added some color to the centres of the flowers with coloring pencils.

Gelatine prints and how to use them in your art...

Happy to be up on the Art Anthology blog again today, with some happy collaging with monoprints. ..I am showing you what to do with all these beautiful papers lying around in your studio, gathering dust!

When making monoprints (or gelliprints), you end up with a lot of beautiful papers! Colorful, shiny, textural happy paper…
..even the papers you’ve used to cleanup your brayer, are very useful to collage with, or use them as backgrounds.
*****
I’ve used this one to create an art journal page…

...and went through stages, changing plans,
(I had to, as a full cup of coffee went over the project; I was not happy with that person, you might guess !)

and ended up with a colorful page with stenciling and layers of stamping and colors.

For al the stages it went through, please see the SNAPGUIDE:Check out How to Use Your Gelliprints by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

And while making monoprints, you sometimes have paint on a stamp, after making marks with it on the gelliplate?
Use it to make a one-of-a-kind background!!

The bliss of Sorbets and Velvets!

An easy but so versatile technique: use your acrylic blok to stamp (or smoosh) paint onto paper,
or any other surface for that matter.

It's an all shimmery yummy textural happy background!

... AND you can actually stamp in the wet paint too!
With a script stamp for example!

The first finished card!

The second one:

Only difference with the previous one (except for the color) : I misted the paint ánd the cardstock with water before smoooooooshing.

Lazy days of summer are nearly over!

For more info on the technique itself, please see the Snapguide tutorial I created JUST for you!

Out and about with Magenta... a workshop from me...

WS0003 RESIST

I've made a new workshop, called WS0003 RESIST,
to be taught here at my house;
I might have done a few sessions of it by the time
you read this post.  (it´s 21/8 today) ....

It's always fun to teach workshops in making backgrounds and complete it with beautiful stamps!
This is one of the samples I've made for the workshop, but the candidates can use any (Magenta) stamps after making the background.
There's different extra's too, different colors, and tips to change it or make the technique work better.
Still not sure what the substrate will be we will be working on .. I have to give that a think!

... while walking through a dark wood...

...you might meet the Magenta fox! He is harmless, don't you worry! Even the ants just continue their journey!

The background has been made with Nuance powders on a gelliplate. I splattered with water-diluted white acrylic paint when dry.
To get the fox to 'jump' off the background I fussy cut it out of white cardstock and adhered it with 3D tape.

I added white with an acrylic marker to the branches and colored it a little with a colered pencil to accentuate them.
